One of them being that with T self-identification being so recent, it's hard to find trans figures in the past without running the risk of projecting an identity the figure may not have understood/liked/been. That said, there are some interesting pre-modern examples. I can send you some more reading material recs if you'd like; ones I accumulated during my time as a history student.
ahh good point. i forgot about that. at the same time, i guess i just wish the world wasn’t so fucked up that we have reached a state like that? where we have to guess our ancestors and doubt them. like i just wish everyone could’ve identified however they so chose.
