thiefofwords asked: You have no idea how much it pleased me to find out that you like Andrea Gibson, Buddy Wakefield, and Anis Mogjani, three of my favourite spoken word artists. [I keep meaning to listen to Taylor Mali, but it always manages to slip my mind.] Have you got a particular favourite/set of favourites of any of their works?

Buddy Wakefield— Horsehead is my absolute favourite. That one always gets me through rough times. The Information Man is great too.

Anis Mogjani—Shake the Dust, of course. The Fisherman. That one about being invincible. And that one about the boy Quentin, on the bus. I want to write a story about him one day.

Andrea Gibson—I can’t decide. She’s just so cool. Swingset is dear to my heart.

Taylor Mali is so amazingly great. His poem, What Teachers Make, was my introduction to spoken word.
